Drainage hydrology and surrounding landscape was altered by channelization of the creek. Mixed community of sycamore-coast live oak woodland and Riversidean alluvial fan sage scrub. RAFSS community is maturing into coastal sage scrub due to altered hydrology. Assoc. with Leymus condensatus and beneath a dense canopy of Quercus agrifolia. Land planned for stockpiling of sediment from Santa Anita Reservoir.
Other associated species included Toxicodendron diversifolium, Ribes aureum, and Bromus diandrus.
A single vegetative shrub, c. 60 cm tall; in jeopardy of being lost to flood control operations, competition from invasive species, as well as altered hydrology and surrounding canopy structure.
