Habitat:
Burnt slopes surrounded by intact Artemisia tridentata scrub and Pinus jeffryi woodland. Soft pumice soil with occasional rhyolitic and granitic outcrops. Grazed scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius. Burnt slopes dominated by Hesperostipa comata.
