Steep northeasterly embankment partly shaded by Quercus agrifolia and Sambucus mexicana. Associated with Galium angustifolium angustifolium, Solanum douglasii, Mimulus aurantiacus pubescens, Silene laciniata major, Ribes speciosum, Toxicodendron diversilobum, Scrophularia californica, etc.
Locally abundant biennial on mesic slopes of drainage; to ca 20 dm tall; stems fistulose , light green with purple spots; flowers white, slightly frgrant.
