Disturbed roadside in area of bedded sandstones, highly deformed and forming steep slopes with cliff-like outcrops. Soils at collection site weathering to sandy loam. Weedy road edge with Avena barbata, Brassica geniculata, Marrubium vulgare, Centaurea melitensis, etc.
Uncommon annual, flowers yellow.
