Westerly-facing granitic ridges; open forest of Ponderosa pine, canyon live oak, manzanita; loose decomposed granite soil; area burned in 2018 Carr Fire. Especially on northwest-facing loose decomposed granite slope.
Plants abundant; flowers bright white, anthers pale yellow; foliage reddish, backs of basal leaves bright pink.
