Non-native grassland with remnant patches of mixed chaparral. Area plowed annually. Associated with Avena barbata, Adenostoma fasciculatum, etc. Adjacent hillside covered with dense, intact coastal sage scrub.
Erect, unbranched perennial on roadside berm, 0.6 meter tall; foliage resinous.
