Mapped location is plausible for D. mohavensis. But looking at all the plants Esau collected on 15 Jun 1935 she must have been in the western Riverside County valley floor and nearby hills around the town of Hemet and not in the San Jacinto Mountains "Hemet Valley" (now called Garner Valley). D. mohavensis occurs in the Santa Rosa Hills just S of Hemet and sometimes shows up as a "washdown" from the SnJt Mtns in the channelized San Jacinto River wash, which would have been a broad alluvial wash in 1935.
