Growing next to the road in ponderosa pine forest (Pinus ponderosa, Calocedrus decurrens, Arctostaphylos viscida ssp. mariposa). Associated with Trifolium hirtum, Elymus glaucus, Madia elegans, Centaurea solstitialis, Rumex acetosella, Cynosurus echinatus. Centaurea maculosa growing in the lot across the street.
