Rich, dark, duff covered loam with leaf mold.
Many non-flowering plants, few flowering. Leaves in whorls below, alternate above. Tepals purple with white, wilting. Fruits winged with dentate margins. Stem red-purple below, green above. Aphids on underside of leaves. Bulbils ~20, 2-3mm. Mycorhiza visible around bulbs.
