United States, California, San Diego, Southern end of the Merriam Mountains, west of Interstate 15, north of the City of Escondido. Population on east-facing slope, ca. 5 meters of well-established dirt path/road. Property in the process of being cleared and graded for residential “development”.

Dense, somewhat low-growing chaparral to ca. 1.5 m. Species include Adenostoma fasciculatum, Salvia mellifera, Xylococcus bicolor, Comarostaphylis diversifolia ssp. diversifolia, Ceanothus sp.
Shrub to 1.25 m, with burl. No flowers, few fruits. Population of ca. 10 individuals.
