In rocky area west of creek bed. Growing against west face of rocks located near samll pools of water. Soil sandy and moist. Platanus racemosa, Quercus agrifolia-open. Closed mixed shrub w/ Baccharis salicifolia, Sarothroides, Malosma laurina and Artemesia californica. Closed mixed grasses w/ Avena barbata and Bromus madretensis.
Perennial, 30+ cm tall. Erect trianglular stem, leaves from base. Yellow/green inflorescence, panicle like cluster of spikelets, subtended by six bracts.
