Mixed oak woodland near buckwheat scrub on a rocky slope. Associated plants are Lotus strigosus, Quercus agrifolia, Pellaea mucronata. Granet soil on 40 degree slope, facing south-southwest, full sun.
Perennial vine to 2 meters tall climing on surrounding shrubs. Papilionaceous flowers with wings deep pink and keel light pink. Banner angle is greater than 90 degrees and is magenta to purple in color.
