On sandy and gravelly 20 to 40 degree slopes. Moderately xeric SE, E and NE aspect. Half to full sun. Coastal Sage community with Eriogonum dominant, then, Quercus sp. (shrub) and some Ceanothus, Baccharus sarathroides, Salvia apiana and Malosma present.
Annual forb to 36 in tall. Single stem from base, branches in inflorescence. Leaves glaucus grey green. Flowers pale purple-pink.
