On sandy and gravelly 20 to 40 degree slopes. Mesic to moderately xeric SE, E and NE aspect. Half sun to shade. Coastal Sage community with Eriogonum dominant, then, Quercus sp. (shrub) and some Ceanothus, Baccharus sarathroides, Salvia apiana and Malosma present.
Perennial forb, to 24in tall. Few stems from common base. Leaves lacy silvery grey. Flowers pale whitish silver.
