Apparantely growing on the shallow root of Arctostaphylos sp., (included). Open, post-fire chaparral community. Approximately 8 months after the fire.
small, perennial, hemiparasitic herb. Leaves with reddish margnins, bracts dark red-maroon, perianth dark fusia.
