S-facing slope below hwy., 4 acre burn site, previous chaparral transition with Juniperus californica (all fire-killed), prolific resprt. of Purshia trilobata, fine-grained, reddish-brown soil strewn with rocks < 5 in.
Dominants include Acmispon glaber, Hesperoyucca whipplei, Purshia tridentata, Erodium cicutarium, Emmenanthe penduliflora, with Opuntia basilaris var. brachyclada, Calochortus kennedyi var. kennedyi, Scutellaria mexicana, Dichelostemma capitatum capitatum, Allium fimbriatum, Syntrichopappus fremontii, Stephanomeria parryi, Calyptridium monandrum, and etc.
Uncommon resprouting shrub; upper lip purple w/ darker center, lower pale lavender at base, darker at apex.
