Open bajada with shallow washes. Slope 5 degrees, facing N55E. Sand soil; color 10YR 4/2 (dark grayish brown). Wuaternary alluvium. Creosote bush scrub. With Larrea tridentata, Krameria [bicolor?], Ephedra, Yucca schidigera, Cylindropuntia ramosissima, Cylindropuntia echinocarpa, Ambrosia dumosa, A. salsola, Acacia greggii, Menodora spinescens, Amsonia tomentosa, Porophyllum gracile, Phoradendron californicum, Hilaria rigida, Scutellaria mexicana, Bouteloua barbata, B. aristidoides, Amaranthus fimbriatus, Boerhavia wrightii, Dasyochloa puvchella, Muhlenbergia porteri.
Shrub, 1.5--8 ft tall; frequent in washes. About 250 plants in the area. CA930A-478.
