Growing in gravelly soil. Desert dry wash association.
Leaves deep green, very viscid. Corollas yellow. G. T. Robbins: No. 4931, det. as Chrysothamnus teretifolius is correctly C. paniculatus (Gray) Hall. The involucral bracts lack the glandular-thickened apices of C. teretifolius and the inflorescence is rather broad and branched, rather than short, dense, and spike-like, as in C. teretifolius. 12/9/58.
