Habitat: Manzanita shrubland surrounded by sparse Pinus ponderosa, P. jeffreyi, Pseudotsuga menziesii, and Calocedrus decurrens forest. Near a disturbed area in dry soil with Arctostaphylos patula, Ceanothus cuneatus, C. prostratus, and Symphoricarpos sp..
Description: Shrub 6-8 feet tall, erect, burl absent, leaves grayish green, fruits densely hairy (with glandular and non glandular hairs).
