Lodgepole For. French Canyon up to ca. 10400'; subalpine for. to 11000' (even 11200') on favored rocky slopes; occas. Pinus albicaulis krumholtz to 11200' - rare specimens to 12000'; basin mostly alpine with extensive areas herbaceous alpine cover. This Luzula at ca. 11,280' in a spot of wet sand in a tiny ravine eroded about midway of steep gravelly rocky slope NW above nroad level sect. just below & S. of Pine Crk. Pass. Two small Pinus contorta var. Murrayana (30" & 60") seen in this ravine far above their normal range. Good herb list.
