Just below a band of soil with a strip of woodland (canyon live oak, black oak, manzanita) that seeps water out of it in the spring. Shallow mineral gravelley rocky mostly bare soil; Tuscan Mudflow or similar (volcanic) substrate. West-facing. Corolla lobes light violet, tube dark, lower throat with 2 raisedyellow lines edged with dark purple; plants very sticky.
