Large serpentine opening in mixed conifer forest; steep, rocky, with fractured outcrops; west facing slope; bare ground around buckbrush, Quercus durata, scattered gray pine; with lots of Erythronium multiscapideum. Occasional, plant a bunchgrass, culms ±erect but inflorescences some-what droopy.
