Site has shrubby (mountain mahogany, Brewer oak) and grassy openings, surrounded by mixed conifer forest (Ponderosa pine, Douglas-fir, black oak, incense cedar, Philadelphus lewisii). In opening surrounded by shrubs, including Rhus trilobata; with Madia elegans, Clarkia lassenensis, Navarretia divaricata ssp. vividor and Gilia capitata.
