Bouncy saturated flat fen, about 35ft x 65ft, 2-3 ft higher along its lower edge than the surrounding dry forest (±open forest dominated by lodgepole pine). Near the bottom of a broad, dry drainage swale. Fen dominated by Eleocharis, several Carex spp., and Juncus mertensianus; transition at edges of the fen with Ligusticum grayi, Drymocallis lactea, scattered Veratrum californicum, Erigeron glacialis and Bistorta bistortoides. Plants concentrated in small wet patch off SE corner of fen with Montia chamissoi, Aster sp, a delicate Epilobium sp and Ligusticum, adjacent to a patch of Vaccinium. Frts large (4mm high x 5mm wide) for this sp, and stem glabrous; no pubescence within corolla tube.
