Narrow ridgeline, shallow rocky gravelly soil, volcanic substrate; widely scattered blue oaks; south slope mostly open annual grassland--north slope mostly shrubby with Ceanothus cuneatus, Cercocarpus betuloides, Quercus wislizeni, Arctostaphylos manzanita, Cercis occidentalis, etc. Upper petals very pale blue, lower lip violet; plants on top of north-facing slope.
