Steep south-facing slope of blocky basalt bedrock, often covered by soil and open white fir dominated mixed conifer forest (plus Jeffrey pine, incense cedar, sugar pine), also with some rock outcrop areas. Here is a narrow steep spring/meadow/fen slope; deep and soggy in the middle with short plants and moss; soggy but a little shallower over around the sides which are dominated by Rudbeckia occidentalis, Sidalcea gigantea, Madia bolanderi, Veratrum californicum, Senecio triangularis. On and next to blocky talus slope along the sides of south-facing basalt outcrop.
