Open broad basalt tablelands, gently sloping southwest; with scattered stunted Ponderosa pine, incense cedar, black oak (adjacent to Ponderosa pine dominated mixed conifer forest); lots of rough rock exposures and with microhabitats of very shallow ephemeral swales. Ca 100 ft NW of road on slightly NW-facing slope, adjacent to spring-seepy area, in afternoon shade of stunted incense cedar. Growing low to ground in with Viola sp, Galium sp. and other annual forbs. Petals white with purple spots on outer edges.
