Centaurea solstitialis L. x Centaurea sp. Plant growing with Centaurea solstitialis, Centaurea squarrosa, but has some characteristics of C. diffusa. Flower color yellowish to light purple. Infested with the yellow starthistle seed head weevil (Bangasternus orientalis or Eustenopus villosus) and possibly the yellow starthistle peacock fly (Chaetorellia australis).
Collection number too long for field and is SQK472276S1-D. Label says: John M. Tucker and Beecher Crampton Herbaria. UC Davis Center for Plant Diversity.
