Steep northwest-facing slope below dirt road in bottom of small canyon with small perennial creek. Just above riparian strip of Salix laevigata, Alnus rhombifolia, Populus fremontii, Vitis californica; in blue oak/gray pine woodland; manzanita, buckbrush, mountain-mahogany, holly-leaved coffeeberry, annual grasses and forbs.
Plants probably rhizomatous, forming this one patch; heads ray-less, yellow-flowered.
