Pinnules oblong, lobed to subentire, and glabrous above; sori scattered over the waxy undersurface of the pinna, generally confluent, making it appear golden; a small, but stout fern. Soil a damp, mossy, rocky loam. Associates: Iris hartwegii, and Brodiaea laxa. Locally abundant.
