Very glandular folia. Most of the trees now shedding pollen, hence yellowish in appearance as well as grayish. Bark of branches is red-brown and smooth. Old trunks are reddish with papery-thin bark. The trees seem to occupy a band or belt about 500 t in vertical distribution and do not form a grove but occur in thickets of 50-100 small 10-12 ft high and mostly solitary trees up to 40 ft
