Gentle alluvial slope in recently developed area (historically dry farming); alkali soils mapped as Chino silt loam. Associated with Malvella leprosa, Atriplex argentea, Atriplex serenana, Heliotropium curassavicum, Heliotropium europae, Euphorbia maculata, Polygonum arenastrum, Dichondra micrantha, Chenopodium murale, and Solanum americanum.
