Sandy bajada in creosote bush scrub; cattle grazing and OHV use; with Larrea, Ambrosia salsola, A. dumosa, Datura wrightii, Cylindropuntia, Scutellaria mexicana, Amaranthus fimbriatus, Pectis papposa, Bouteloua barbata, B. aristidoides, Bebbia juncea, Marina parryi, Adenophyllum cooperi, Senna armata.

Notes:
Population > 50 shrubs. Fls. purple to fuchsia pink. C. 3 ft. tall.
