Habitat:
Gradual east-facing slope, dry subalpine meadow with scattered granite boulders, silty-sandy soil; Carex, Calamagrostis muiriana, Lupinus lepidus ssp. lobbii; Pinus albicaulis nearby on drier mounds.

Flowering
Notes:
Annual herb, corollas white, nutlet scar basal. Common in patches of mainly bare ground within dense meadow turf.
