South-facing slope on rocky clay-loam soil in transition between fuel modification zone, mostly dominated by perennial grasses and scattered coastal sage scrub elements, landscaping and coastal sage scrub/sumac chaparral. Assoc. with Rhus integrifolia, Stipa lepida, Avena barbata, Encelia californica, Myoporum rapense.
