Habitat:
Chaparral on hillside near ridge top, rocky slopes at roadside; with Ceanothus leucodermis, Eriodictyon crassifolium, Rhamnus ilicifolius, Salix lasiolepis, Yucca whipplei, Keckiella ternata, Adenostoma fasciculatum, etc.
Reproductive Condition:
Buds only
Notes:
Common shrubs c. 1-1.5 m tall, along much of the Main Divide Rd., forming dense patches in places. Basal burls present. With young fl. buds only.
