Generally NE-facing hillside and flats with deep clay soil; disturbed in places; annual grassland with Avena fatua dominant.

Notes:
Uncommon annual in dense grass at edge of a Plantago erecta dominated opening on a flat; fls. yellow, with rays aging to red.
