Alluvial flats and moderate to steep slopes, granitic substrate with large boulder outcrops, loose, decomposed granite soils. Vegetation recently burned (2006 or 2007), formerly dominated by scrub of Artemisia tridentata, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Yucca brevifolia on flats, drier slopes scrubby woodland of Pinus sabiniana, P. monophytlla, Quercus wislizenii, Q. chrysolepis, Fremontodendron californicum, etc.
Flowering & Fruiting
Annual, flowers small, white, nutlet 1, smooth and shining. Occasional on burned slopes.
