Stems red, very robust, fistulose; leaves glabrous above but tomentose below and along margins of lamina; spikes long, bracts long, persistant, flowers non-verticllate, drying very early; banner very large, light bluish-white, not deeply furrowed, strongly reflexed; wings mostly white with blue veins, does not completely cover keel, especially at bottom, leaving white portion of keel exposed; keel ciliate on upper margin only toward the claws, glabrous above middle toward acumen.
