Large flood control basin next to the river; highly disturbed riparian zone with sandy soils that receive occasional flooding. Patches of native shrubs include Baccharis salicifolia and Salix. Common non-native species include Arundo donax, Lepidium latifolium and Rumex crispus.

Erect, branching annual to 50 cm. Flowers membranous.
