Oak woodland and chaparral on canyon slopes; with Quercus kelloggii, Q. wislizenii, Q. lobata, Q. douglasii, Aesculus californica, Arctostaphylos, Adenostoma, Rhamnus ilicifolia, etc.
Flowering
Fairly common 5-8 m trees on lower slopes of canyon, in woodland with Q. kelloggii & Q. lobata. Fls. white.
