Yellow pine forest of Pinus ponderosa, P. coulteri, P. lambertiana, Abies concolor, Quercus kelloggii, etc. on granitic slopes with boulders and bedrock outcrops, decomposed granite soil. Drainages with Ribes nevadense, Potentilla glandulosa, Salix, Carex, Juncus, etc.
Flowering & Fruiting
Locally common perennial on canyon bottom, 1-1.5 m tall; fls. light purple/lavender. Most plants with fruit only, 1 pl. with a single infl.
