Habitat:
Dry hills with chamise chaparral and annual grassland (in areas burned a few years ago) with Yucca whipplei prominent in grassland.

Notes:
Fairly common cespitose perennial with 2.5 m infl.; fls. white. On open slopes; conspicuous on upper slopes in Avena grassland.
