Open oak woodland of Quercus agrifolia with an understory of chaparral composed of Ericameria pinifolia, Arctostaphylos glauca, Eriodictyon crassifolium, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Opuntia ssp., Erodium cicutarium, Filago californica, etc. along the drainage with chaparral composed of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Quercus berberidifolia, Heteromeles arbutifolia, etc. on adjacent slopes. Arkose substrate with sandy soil with scattered pockets of gabbro with clay soil; aspect S; slope 0-70%.
