Major habitats are alluvial wash (low cover of Lepidospartum squamatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, etc.; higher cover on mature benches); riparian (Salix lasiolepis, Ageratina adenophora, etc.); and weedy roadside lots.
Flowering
Herbaceous perennial, c. 1 m tall. Ray flowers white with maroon streak on back. Occasional to common in alluvial scrub and coastal sage scrub on adjacent slopes.
