Major habitats are alluvial wash (low cover of Lepidospartum squamatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, etc.; higher cover on mature benches); riparian (Salix lasiolepis, Ageratina adenophora, etc.); and weedy roadside lots.
Flowering
Abundant shrub throughout area, except in riparian. Generally ±1 m tall, but some to 2 m tall. Tepals white with ±maroon midrib, hairy outside, inner surface with row of hairs on midrib; leaves with scttered hairs on upper surface. Occurs with var. polifolia (SDW 5151).
