Ambrosia dumosa/Larrea tridentata community. Edge of granitic gravelly sandy wash, with Encelia frutescens, Porophyllum gracile, Stephanomeria pauciflora, Krameria, Bebbia juncea, Eriogonum inflatum, and Acacia greggii. W aspect; 6% slope. Later summer rains had germinated a number of annuals in this area as well as providing for good new growth of perennials.
Flowering
Small woody shrub, 50 cm high by 90 cm wide. Leaves fascicled, green (not grey-green), some red tinged, revolute. Infl. cymose, heads round, perianth reddish pink. A Voucher specimen for Flowering Plants of the Western Desert Regions.
