Lower rocky N-facing slope of 10°. Associated with Gilia sp., Achnatherum hymenoides, A. parishii, Descurainia pinnata, Bromus tectorum, Phlox austromontana, Poa secunda, Eriogonum ovalifolium vineum, Yucca brevifolia, Juniperus osteosperma, and Pinus monophylla.

Occasional perennial; fruiting, glabrous, spreading to deflexed frts.
