Chaparral on steep dry slopes of light-colored decomposed metamorphic rock; assoc. with Cercocarpus, Adenostoma, Ceanothus cra., Arctostaphylos, Yucca w., Eriogonum fas., & nothing else. No annuals present.
Flowering & Fruiting
Scarce in gravelly open area between shrubs, probably parasitic on Adenostoma; fls. purple. Stems thick and succulent.
