Upper edge of desert scrub with Juniperus calif., Yucca brev., Nolina, Grayia, Ericameria lin., etc. on dry slopes. Springs & small streams common.
Flowering & Fruiting
Common annual (ca. 5000 seen) to 1 m tall, in moist open areas on sand & clay over shallow bedrock, absent where Salix, Juncus, Muhlenbrgia, etc. were dense. Fls. yellow.
